FOSTER PACKAGING CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF PACKAGING SUCCESS

March 2018

In March 1998 Joe Foster took the plunge and started up the company Foster Packaging. To reach the 20 year mark certain qualifies as a success story, but the Foster Packaging story was not without many ups and downs, risks and gambles... which thankfully seem to have paid off!

In celebrating 20 years, Joe flew out from Australia and hosted an amazing dinner at Dixies Restaurant in Glencairn. He took this opportunity to thank all the people who have been part of the Journey: from partners and colleagues, to business connections and service providers as well as the friends an family who have supported him and the business along the way.

Special credit was given to Beverly Popplestone who joined Joe from the start 20 years ago as well as Chris O'Brien who joined the company 15 years ago. Beverly is still working at the the Cape Town office and Chris now runs the Pouch Shop.

The 20 year anniversary celebrations proved to be the perfect occasion for a bit of team building as well. Joe's partners from newly merged business in Australia, Omniverse Foster, accompanied him to South Africa. This was the first time that the Australians, Brendan Yee, Darren Britts and Lawrence Jaffe, were able to meet the whole South African contingent of Foster Packaging. Everyone traveled to a hotel in Gordons Bay for the weekend.

The weekend started off with Friday night dinner, followed by some company presentations and discussions on Saturday morning which left everyone crackling with enthusiasm and excitement about the future of the company and exciting challenges on the horizon. The afternoon was topped off with more fun and quad biking and a final dinner in the evening.

I think it is fair to say that the 20 year anniversary was well and truly celebrated and the Foster Packaging family is looking forward to the next 20!
